Press Release Summary: Museum of Discovery & Science Turns to Top Digital Agency to Acknowledge $1 Million Gift From Republic Services Inc.
Press Release Body: FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (March 20, 2008) - When The Museum of Discovery & Science wanted to thank Republic Services Inc., for a $1 million contribution to its capital campaign, executives turned to digital media, marketing and content development agency RMS Networks to create a Thank You to remember. A 20-minute video montage played on the five-story AutoNation IMAX Theater screen. It told Republic's story, and noted the contributions of CEO Jim O'Connor, his people and the company to the South Florida community.
"The museum's benefactors are leaders of the community who have invested countless hours and millions of dollars to create one of Fort Lauderdale's cultural treasures," said Jason Kates, CEO and founder of RMS Networks. "The thank-you video was written and created to acknowledge Republic and its associates in a style, tone and quality they would expect."
Republic's contribution is part of the Museum's $20 million, three-year capital campaign. The gift will fund a new 1,500-square-foot "Green" exhibit designed to educate visitors about recycling, waste disposal and the purpose and science behind landfills. The campaign also will expand the Museum and include the EcoDiscovery Center, featuring exhibits on Florida's environment, ecology, the Everglades, and the impact of humankind, hurricanes, and climate change.
This wasn't the first time the Museum had turned to RMS, said Patrick Flynn, the Museum's Executive Vice President of Development. The company in November produced videos showcasing items being auctioned off as part of a Museum fundraiser. In fact, RMS frequently works with area charities. RMS recently worked with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County to produce a video that helped raise $4.5 million.
RMS' creative talent and state-of-the-art facilities deliver high-impact cinematic productions. For the Republic acknowledgement, RMS incorporated video of "Ronnie the Recycling Robot," complete with a Republic hat and shirt. RMS combined existing footage, original content, its own graphical elements and custom in-house animation - and put the entire production to music.
"The team at RMS are geniuses," Flynn said. "We keep calling on them because they're good people, easy and fun to work with, and they bring a real creative edge that everyone truly enjoys. We have fairly high expectations and RMS delivers every time."
